2009 and 2010 in Brief

I’m a bit behind with the obligatory 2009 wrap up and new years goals post due to traveling and a lack of internet access now I am home again but this is it. Looking back on 2009 I’ve traveled back to SE Asia twice and had a great time on both occasions (would I have expected anything else?) and I feel like I have prepared a solid launching pad for 2010. By the way my most popular post in 2009 was My Plan to Move to Southeast Asia.

So setting some goals for 2010.

  1. Earn $1000 a month from online income.
  2. Have 10 solid money earning sites ($100mth each)
  3. Move abroad.
  4. Eliminate debt.
  5. Reach 1000 blog subscribers. (Currently 229)
  6. Create an Ebook.
  7. Establish Voyagner.com as an authority travel blog.

These goals are interlinked and make up the main parts of the ultimate goal of being location independent, achieving any one is a significant step in achieving the others. Most of them aren’t new goals but this is the year I had planned to complete them.

Paying off my debt is a big step, my calculations tell me it will happen around September or earlier not taking into consideration the increased online income I should be earning between now and then. September/October is really when I would like to make a long term move overseas.

While I didn’t post anything while I was traveling nor did I even get online all that often I did do some writing offline which I’ll be publishing soon, it requires some further research which I really didn’t feel like doing while there was a nice tropical beach so close by. After discovering free wifi which barely reached into the room of my hotel in Bangkok I proved to myself that I can sit down and do the things I’ll have to do to maintain an online business when I eventually move over there.

I also thought about where I would like to live, I could quite easily live in Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Siagon or Manila but I do prefer a more relaxing place which means I’ll be looking at somewhere like Krabi, Phuket or Bali. But all that is just talk unless I work hard on the main thing, the income.
