Recently a 16 year old sailed around the world solo setting a new record and a 13 year old climbed Mt Everest. Weeks after Jessica Watson completed her solo RTW sail another 16 year old girl was rescued in the Indian Ocean. A 14 year old Dutch girl has recently been allowed by a court to attempt the same feat. Recent media coverage of extreme sports and arduous expeditions seem to attract a largely negative response from the general public. Traveling With a Mission: Why Themed Travel Can Make Your Trip More Memorable

Last night I was watching a video about Tim Ferriss and Darren Rose’s trip to China with another guys I have to admit I’ve never heard of, you could say the theme to this trip is Tea (or for the niche marketers Pu-erh Tea). It’s a month of traveling around Yunnan Province tasting what they call the best teas on earth. Now I’m no real tea expert other than being partial to a bit of green but two things came to mind hearing their plans.

Motorcycle Adventures for Independent Travelers

Motorcycles rock, they are fun to ride, they keep you close to the action, get you places cars can't and do it faster than walking. They are also relatively cheap.

Pororoca: Surfing Tidal Bores on The Amazon River

Pororoca is the local name for a tidal bore that produces waves up to 4 meters high on the Amazon River. Surfers and Kayakers are drawn to this phenomenon for the unique experience of surfing for up to 30 minutes on a single wave, over 13 kilometers, on a river. It's a rare feat and not many can say they have done it.
