Matt Kepnes makes $3000 a month from his travel blog and other travel sites, so he knows his stuff, many people have emailed and twittered him on many occasion asking for advice on how he does it and that is how How to Make Money Travel Blogging came about. I purchased another similar ebook a while back that turned out to be terrible but I jumped into buying Matt’s book because I know he gives excellent and practical advice.

The book’s main focus is SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and marketing your blog. If you want to make money this is something you really need to know, along with creating useful content. That is the meat of it but Matt start out with explaining travel blogging and setting up a blog, creating traffic and monetizing it. The sections that cover setting up a blog will give you a clear idea of what type of blogs have the best money making potential so you can create a plan for your site to take advantage of this knowledge.

Once your up and running Matt explains how he markets his sites to get traffic and how where that traffic comes from can effect your SEO. Traffic and SEO directly effect the value of your site, if you have good traffic and SEO you can charge more for advertising and this is why it is so important to pay attention to these two aspects of blogging. In this way the book isn’t just for travel blogger but for anyone who wants to know how to market their site on the internet.

While much of the information in the book wasn’t new to me that probably has a lot to do with that I’ve been  blogging for quiet a while now and I have pretty good understanding of SEO and Internet Marketing from just reading blogs on these topics and found that Matt gives much better practical advice on putting it into practice.

The biggest suggestion I can make if you buy this book is to put what you learn into practice immediately and just see how it works.

Matt doesn’t promise you’ll make you’re millions doing this, frankly you won’t, but you just might be able to make enough for it to fund your travels, potentially indefinitely. With that a possibility its got to be worth a shot. I think if you put everything into practice you should be able to irk out at least $100 a month with an established site using the methods described to build traffic. It’s all up to you in the end though, Matt and others like him can teach you what you need to know but it all rests on how much effort you’re willing to put into it.

How to Make Money With Your Travel Blog is only $27

Anything bad to say? Not really, it’s not the prettiest ebook and there are a few typos and spelling errors throughout but it has substance where it count’s and if definitely worth it.

Dan, thanks for the review. Not sure when you bought your copy but all the little grammar mistakes have been pointed out and quickly corrected. As for design, I put the relevant pictures in there but, for me, the content was more important than the design. Maybe if i sell a bunch more i’ll have a graphics person make it all pretty!

“Matt gives much better practical advice on putting it into practice.” <—-thank you!
