I’ve spent the last couple of days moving into a new unit and today I’m off to Cambodia, well it will take me two days to get there going via Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur first and then I will only be there a couple of days before heading to Thailand and later back to Cambo to visit some temples, I have a particular one in mind that which covers an area greater than Angkor Thom but is rarely visited by tourists, it will be a challenge to get to though and a lot of fun.

The geek in me is looking forward to trying out Foursquare in a few cities and Trave Fish’s new Angkor app, the rest is just looking forward to a break from work and being in those places I enjoy so much again. I’ll have 3 weeks in total to spend in Cambodia, Thailand and possibly Laos, with some layovers in Kuala Lumpur that will give me a little time to check out the city and Batu Caves is high on the list of things to do. All while trying to stay more connected than I have on past trips, I’ve tended to completely zone out and leave any tech alone. This time I’m aiming for daily twitpics and at least a weekly blog post. Seems odd for a travel blogger but it is mostly so that I can prove to myself that yes, I can work while on the road. This trip will serve as a test of my work and spending control, lets hope it is a success.

I’m looking forward to finally meeting a few bloggers like Cody McKibben and Richard Escobar for a huge new years bash in BKK. If anyone else thinks they will be around Koh Chang or Bangkok from Christmas to New Years drop me a line and I’ll make every effort to catch up with you.

Time to double check my pack. Stay Tuned.

Word of warning, do not go jumping off the ruins in Ankewat, you can break your ankle as I did and then hobble round on home made crutches for a week.

Definitely meet Cody, he is a legend.

Have fun! I’m in Bail over Christmas and New Years, and then for most of January. Then it’s off to Chiang Mai for February. I have to get back to KL for my flight to Seoul on Feb 22/10. I’m thinking about taking the train straight through from CM to KL. Something I have never done. I think it would make for good blogging material.

I too have plans to stay more connected and actually blog when I am on the road this winter.

Merry Christmas

Thanks Mary, foursquare seems pretty fun. This trip is going to be very fun.

Hope you enjoy the trip. I find the foursquare obsession hilarious, but good luck with the other tech stuff and proving to yourself you can work on the road!
