You’ll have noticed a new theme on the blog, I’m really happy with this one and I’m sure I’ll be sticking with it, just have to decide on colors. I’ve also added my “Bucket List” to the site, it’s growing, slowly. I’m not a huge fan of the name “bucket list”, not because of its link to death or anything. Maybe it’s the idea of keeping the things you most want to do in your life in a lowly bucket, I don’t know but if you have any other suggestions let me know.

I’ve recently purchased a MMO ‘system’ which includes personal mentorship by the author, I think that if I am going to be really successful at this it’s what I need, mostly to keep me on track and doing the right things. I’m prone to going off and trying 3 or 4 different things at once and not giving any of them the attention they really need. I will be focusing on affiliate marketing and outsourcing as much of it as possible. I’ll write more about this when I progress a little further, I know there are a lot of other people who would like to use the same methods I plan on using and would be interested in my progress and experiences.

July was a good month financially, I received a good tax return and managed to pay off 2 credit cards, this leaves only one card and my loan to pay off and so far the July ’10 goal of having it all payed off is looking good. I’m also starting to sell off some “stuff” that I have or will have no need for once I’m off, which is helping with paying off the debt a bit faster too. There are some things I can’t sell until I’m ready to leave but I’ve estimated their sale value and it only makes things look even better. By the end of this month I’ll be looking at moving into a cheaper unit, which will also speed things along. So as far as debt goes, it looks and feels like I’m right on track. Online income though is what I really need to concentrate on to make sure I’m boarding a flight with a one way ticket this time next year.

The 3rd installment of the “Digital Nomad” blog carnival is open and accepting submissions. It will be hosted here this month and I’m looking forward to featuring some great articles from you all. Follow Cody on the founder Twitter @CodyMcKibb

The last days of July provided great lessons in social media. Things proved that the best way to look good is to make others look good, to be genuine and show respect. I noticed a couple in the travel/work/lifestyle launch a new product. It seems to have been successful for them but I know it was muted in comparison to what it could have been. Their one directional approach to social networking meant that no one in the niche community drew attention to their new product and combined with the fake, plastic, we’re so beautiful image they present I think they alienate more potential customers than they attract. I’m just going to add that it is not the same business Cody didn’t refer to in his recent Turning Fans into Enemies post. If you want to learn about how to best use social media I strongly suggest you follow Cody if you don’t already he really knows his stuff, I share the philosophy he approaches social media with for the results it gets and building genuine relationships.

I’ll be back soon with more on my affiliate marketing project in the next few days, hope to see you then.

Fantastic goal meeting you have going on there! Congrats!

We’re excited and hopeful that the recognition of one-way sided community will lead to more conscious intentions of authentic community going forward.

All our best for continuing to succeed in your goals.. we’re watching and cheering for you!

Another alternative to “Bucket List” is “101 in 1001″ as used by the zero day project. The idea is to create a list of 101 things to do within the next 1001 days.

Nicely done! I really like the new theme! I’ve been tempted to add a list to my blog as well. I really like the idea.

Very excited about the next carnival as well. I might even have to write something special for it!

What about calling your bucket list the “Awesome List of Things to Kick Ass At”! haha

Thanks for the support Dan. I’m glad you recognize how hard I try to build authentic community and how much I value the relationships I’ve cultivated online. They are what keep me coming back to the keyboard day after day.

Excited to see the blog carnival here on Voyagner! You have a spectacular new design, I really like it.
